Collection: Prints | Still Life

The Dutch Masters of the 1600s excelled at still life painting and many objects had a symbolic meaning. Choosing the objects, the composition, the lighting is an art in itself. Even a simple egg can carry a lot of meaning, a symbol of life, the perfect shape, you can make so many different things from it - you can even paint with it! I like to paint using as limited a palette as possible as this brings harmony and calm. I love the muted blues and greys which form many of my backgrounds and I arrange the objects so they catch the light - it could be the morning sun through a window or flickering evening candlelight. See my prints below.
