Study of a Buzzard Feather | Original Oil Painting | 4 x 12 inches

A contemporary still life painting in oils of a Buzzard Feather. How often have you walked past a feather without looking? This beautiful feather with its lovely markings came from a Buzzard I think and I love the combination of softness and strength. I was interested in the changes in colour, the fine structure of the barbs and the downy softness where the feather meets the shaft at the bottom.

Painted on a 4x12 inch cradled wooden panel. It makes a good pair with the prickly Teasel but can equally well be hung on its own.

The painting is finished with a clear varnish to protect the work for years of enjoyment.
