Leek | Original Oil Painting | 4 x 12 inches

I painted a few of these panels on holiday in Wales and so a Leek seemed a very suitable subject to paint. I used more of a dry brushstroke to get the effect of the tougher leaves at the top. The roots at the bottom are quite interesting - I haven't really painted much there at all but your brain fills the information in for you and you instinctively know what they look like. I find that phenomenon quite magical.

Painted on a 4x12 inch cradled wooden panel. It makes a good pair with the Asparagus Spear but can equally well be hung on its own.

The painting is finished with a clear varnish to protect the work for years of enjoyment.
