Study of a Teasel | Original Oil Painting | 4 x 12 inches

A contemporary still life painting in oils of a prickly teasel plant. A teasel may not be the first thing you'd think of painting but when you look really closely they are so intricate and beautiful. It was fascinating to try and convey the prickliness, especially as I'd just painted a Feather which was the complete opposite. 

Painted on a 4x12 inch cradled wooden panel. It makes a good pair with the soft Buzzard Feather but can equally well be hung on its own.

The painting is finished with a clear varnish to protect the work for years of enjoyment.
